  1. How we gather and use your personal information

Your feedback is being collected by the Home Office to support the Manston Special Development Order (SDO) planning proposal. To support the planning proposal for the Manston site, the Home Office is engaging with residents and businesses near to the site to receive their feedback through a feedback form.

A summary of the feedback received will be included in the planning proposals submitted to the Secretary of State of the Department for Local Government, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). The Home Office and Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) are the data controllers, both of 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF. This also includes when it is collected or processed by third parties on our behalf. The Home Office's and DLUHC's Data Protection Officers can be contacted at DPO@homeoffice.gov.ukand dataprotection@levellingup.gov.uk respectively.

  1. Legal basis for processing the data

The Home Office collects and processes personal information to fulfil its legal and official statutory functions. We will only use personal information when the law allows us to and where it is necessary and proportionate to do so.

The Home Office is only allowed to process your data where there is a lawful basis for doing so. We have systems and policies in place to limit access to your information and prevent unauthorised disclosure. Staff who access personal information must have appropriate security clearance and a business need for accessing the information, and their activity is subject to audit and review.

The data protection legislation sets out when we are lawfully allowed to process your data. The lawful basis that applies to this processing is that it is necessary for the performance of a public task (see Article 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

  1. Data retention and security

Your personal data will be held for up to 24 months following the planning submission and then securely destroyed, unless it is considered the data can be destroyed earlier. Your feedback and any personal data will be held on a secure Government IT system and shared securely with our external consultants.

You have the right to request access to the personal information the Home Office holds about you. You can email the Home Office data protection officer at DPO@homeoffice.gov.uk if you have any questions or concerns about the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information.

In certain circumstances you have the right to object to and restrict the use of your personal information, or to ask to have your data deleted, or corrected.

Delib Privacy Information

Delib's software (this website) enables organisations to set up and operate activities, through which they can engage with you.

This site is managed by the controlling organisation, Home Office. When you access and use this site, the personal information you have submitted to these activities will go to the organisation. Delib will not access your personal information unless requested to do so by the organisation, and only for the purposes of assisting them with the administration of this site.

Accessing your Personal Information

If you have any questions or requests about your personal information, for example to request a copy of it, or to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong, please contact the organisation (as stated in their Privacy Notice / Privacy Statement / Privacy Policy). Collection of Browser Information

The information provided by your computer when you use this website is collected by Delib. For example, your browser type, IP address, language preference, referring site and the date and time. The purpose for collecting this information is to maintain the security of the website and for operating and improving the software.
